10.23.2022: Diwali - Festival of Lights

@ River Square Mall, Spokane

This year's Deepawali celebration was attended by 12000+ people. It was a wonderful display of culture & arts. Chiefguest

Councilman Michael Cathcart lighted the diyas to mark the tradition of lighting diyas on auspicious occasion of Deepawali.

 

Liz Hooker from Downtown Spokane, Chelsea Garibay from Riverfront park square, Juan Juan Moses from Spokane public library, Councilman Michael Cathcart from City if Spokane and Shantel Jackson from Spokane arts judged the Rangoli contest.

 

Celebration was made possible by grants and support from City of Spokane, Downtown Spokane, River Park Square, Humanities Washington, Spokane Public Library, Arts washington and Washington state commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. 

 

We thank all our sponsers, partners, vendors, participants and community members for the beautiful Deepawali celebration.

11.11.2018: Festive Social

More than 100 guests attended the event. Mr. Keyoor Joshi who performed the Lakshmi Ganesh pooja belongs to the lineage of priests of Dwarkadish temple in Gujarat and is University trained in Temple rituals and Yagna. He represents the tradition of Shukla Yajurved for priestly rituals and was also initiated into the Saraswati Monastic order. Thanks to him and the host family, Nikita Agrawal and her 4-year-old daughter, who made all the arrangements wholeheartedly and presented the community with a never before experience. Along with beautiful rituals and festive activities, in this groundbreaking event, SHTCC's vision was shared and objectives were laid out. This dream if achieved together, will be a great asset to our community and especially to the youth which was acknowledged and well received by the community.
